Rural Experience Program

Rural Experience - experience the lifestyle

Need a breath of fresh air? The Rural Experience Program is an opportunity for experienced teachers to take up a short-term placement at a rural or remote school.

Placements for the Rural Experience Program are created by principals of Rural Experience schools. The placements align with school strategies and represent a wide choice of levels and subject areas, and include teaching and project positions.

Applications are now open for placements commencing in 2020.

To apply, you need to match your skills and interests with a placement offer - and be ready to move if you are successful.

Placements are above establishment and are funded by the Rural and Remote Initiative. An allowance of $500 per week is available to teachers for the duration of the placement.

Visit the Rural Experience Program on the department's website for more information and to apply.
