Rural Experience - your next adventure

Need a breath of fresh air? The Rural Experience Program is an opportunity for experienced teachers to take up a short-term placement at a rural or remote school.

Over 140 placements have been created by principals of Rural Experience schools for the program. These placements, aligning with school strategies, represent a wide choice of levels and subject areas, teaching and project positions. To apply, you need to match your skills and interests with a placement offer - and be ready to move if you are successful.

Applications are open for placements in the 2018 and 2019 school years. Successfully matched applicants could begin as early as July 2018 (for two terms only) or in Term 1, 2019 for up to four terms.

Placements are funded by the Rural and Remote Initiative. An allowance of $500 per week is available to teachers for the duration of the placement.

Visit the Rural Experience Program on the department's website for more information and to apply.
